Alrighty y'all, it's time for the second track overview! 🏁
I'll be sharing info on each individual track over the next few days so that you can get a feel for each of them. And once you're familiar with them, I'd love to hear your name ideas!
I'm looking to have a variety of name types across these tracks. Most of my ideas have been street names, city districts, restaurant/business names, or just something goofy. Here's a few that I've come up with so far: Back Alley Blitz, Trash Heap Highway, Bin Bandit Boulevard, Trash Can Turnpike, Backstreet Bistro, Pigeon Plaza, and Dumpster Diver District.
Trash Dash Tracks
So here's how the signature tracks of Trash Dash work.
The six tracks are broken up into two tournament circuits of three races each, Uptown and Downtown. Tracks can vary between 1-4 required laps by using the two double sided lap tracker tiles and can range from 5-12 track tiles. With that structure, tracks can have a variety of setups that offer a unique flavor to each race.
Each of the signature tracks corresponds to one of the six playable critters and leans into that character's specific playstyle. Today we'll be looking at the next track of the Uptown circuit, Penelope's signature track!
Penelope's Signature Track
8 tiles, 2 laps (32 spaces total). Tiles needed: LT2, SB, 3B, 12A, 11B, 8B, 10A, 7A, TA
"Don’t let the abundance of Recycle Bins fool you into acting frivolously with your Action cards. If Madam Penelope is in the race, that extra draw power just means she’s gonna find those wicked Scare cards that much quicker!"
As the second track of the Uptown circuit, Penelope's signature track debuts the first appearance of the Recycle Bin special space. After being eased into gameplay on Winston's track, players will have to use what they've learned to navigate this changing landscape.
Recycle bins add a lot of extra versatility to a player's hand of cards, allowing them to draw 2 Action cards and discard 1 of them. This hand refresh is a great way for players to shape their options, but if you're racing against Penelope on this track you're going to have to watch out for more Scare cards hitting the table!
And with only two laps, players will have less opportunities to make a pit stop on the "safety space" of the starting line.
Plus, if you risk it on your first turn to make a giant 6 space leap with a Dash, you'll be able to hit a Spill right into a Trash Can! This is even more tempting because if your opponents Attack and hit you backwards, chances are you'll slip right into that Recycle Bin to refresh the cards you used to Dash. Who's a greedy possum? It's me, I'm a greedy possum 😅
Now that you've got the vibes of this track, what kind of name comes to mind? Let me know in the comments! 🤔🧠⚡️
